MATERIALS

Sliding bearings such as mono-layered, two-layered and poly-layered are made of various combinations of materials as follows:
  • bronze
  • bronze - white metal
  • steel (cast steel, cast iron) - white metal
  • steel - bronze - white metal
  • steel - bronze - galvanic layer

Various tehnological procedures are used during the production of sliding bearings but their applications depends on the bearing form and size:

  • static (gravitational) casting of white metal - not limited in size
  • providing the layer of white metal is done by welding and soldering technique - not limited in size
  • centrifugal casting of white metal - max Ø 1500 x 1600 mm.
  • inductions centrifugal casting of bronze - max Ø 400 x 250 mm.
  • centrifugal casting of bronze - 1500 do Ø max 2000 mm. (depends on weight)
  • static casting of bronze - max weight of casting 4500 kg.
In the production of sliding bearings only the primary raw material from the best European producers is used. Table 1. shows the types of lead metal and tin white metal mostly used. Other types of white metal are used if required by the buyer. The latest white metal type TEGOSTAR 738 is an ecologial type containing no lead, cadmium, nickel or arsenic but having high physical properties as well. In our factory there is always a sufficient quantity of mentioned types of metal. The main suplier of white metal is reputable world knows producer "ECKART - POUDMET GmbH" Essen, Germany.
Next to, lead-tin bronze G - CuPb22Sn, G - CuPb15Sn, G - CuPb10Sn are also used, as well as other types of bronze and brass if necessary.
